What customers say

Based on genuine customer reviews

Tees Law handles a mix of family, private client, property and negligence matters, and the care taken with sensitive cases emerges time and again from feedback. Customers describe divorce proceedings steered towards amicable and reasonably priced resolutions, with Clare Pilsworth and Tim Deeming named for their professionalism and empathy. Clinical negligence claims recur in the accounts, where clients report feeling supported through an emotional process and kept updated as matters progressed. Property transactions also feature, and Niamh MacKenzie-Johnson is credited with completing a matter within four weeks, while the private client team is thanked for explanations that allowed clients to make their own decisions.

One thing mentioned again and again is the politeness and approachability of staff, together with prompt updates and clear communication at every stage. Concerns surface as well. Some reviewers describe replies to emails arriving only after telephone calls, and meetings where the expected adviser was absent and the discussion felt unprepared. In one purchase, unresolved questions about undocumented modifications led the buyer to withdraw, and delayed exchange dates were attributed to a slow pace. Fees for advice that did not settle the issue were also felt to be poor value.

I contacted this firm regarding a potential clinical negligence claim and made it clear that no expert report had yet been obtained. Despite this, they repeatedly stated that a pro bono expert opinion must exist, based on their interpretation of previous correspondence, and did not accept clarification on two seperate occasions. Their opinion was based on assumption and they were unwilling to accept my explanation. As a result, my case does not appear to have been considered on an accurate factual basis. Absolutely would not recommend.

I have engaged with my solicitor Amber Kennedy over the last 2 yrs due to a complicated, emotional divorce. She is understanding and empathetic in a difficult situation and is able to guide you through thoughts that cloud your vision, to a realistic way forward. She words documents and responses with a professional, inoffensive manner which is direct and highly knowledgeable. All work is carried out promptly and always on time which was extremely important when I faced a FDR court hearing. She helped me achieve a good ,fair outcome. I highly recommend AmberKennedy/Tees Law.

I approached Amber Kennedy of Tees Law in January 2025 during a very difficult and stressful long-winded divorce proceedings, during which I was feeling incredibly battered and in despair. Amber listened patiently to my circumstance and the looming deadlines for next FDR hearing and immediately put me at ease with her assuring manner and clear knowledge. Amber patiently supported and led through FDR ably supported by the Tees team who combined to ensure I always felt listened to and their number one concern. I wholeheartedly recommend Amber and Tees to anyone on the divorce journey.

Clare Pilsworth from Tees has provided excellent service at a difficult time for my family. She helped shephard my ex-wife and me towards an amicable and relatively inexpensive divorce despite the communication difficulties we were experiencing. I am deeply grateful for the professional intelligence and empathy she brought to bear in our case.

I've used Tees Law services twice in a year, most recently with the private client team. Thanks to the efficiency of Niamh MacKenzie-Johnson, my matter has been completed within four weeks. Communication and professionalism have been outstanding. I would happily instruct Tees Law in future matters.

The only positive in dealing with them as mediators was that they were very efficient in taking their fees. Otherwise, waste of time, money and energy. A few years later I realise how bad this process has been, and how useless the mediator was in facilitating conversation and finding solutions. They also ignored emails at a crucial time in the communication. Ended up in court, wasting time and money.
