I notarized few documents around the world for sale of my properties. The fee was x amount which I was happy to pay and reasonable. I went to the Southampton notary and did a year ago with Ian the same procedures( without asking for a quote) and he charges more or less the same amount. With good service, very helpful and polite. A week ago, I went for the same place and did the same procedures with a lady that notarized my papers as Ian did, witnesses signature, same amount of papers and time. In the end, she asked if I asked for a quote and I responded that I did not. She then said the price is x £ , which was triple to four times the price I usually pay. I understand that it is business, but there is some logic you should follow without leaving your customers with bitter taste in their mouth when they leave.
