What customers say

Based on genuine customer reviews

Divorce and financial settlement work features prominently among the family law matters handled by this practice, and the solicitors involved are repeatedly praised for the way they explain complex positions. Danielle is singled out for her patience and kindness while guiding clients through separation and financial discussions, an approach that left several people feeling properly understood. Catherine Bell is commended for steering a clinical negligence claim across a number of years, coordinating expert reports and keeping her client updated throughout.

Katie Shaw draws comparable recognition in medical negligence matters for her empathy and prompt replies, including occasional updates when little was happening. Alex Haworth is described as providing thoughtful, emotionally aware advice on child arrangements, giving reassurance through testing periods. Joanne Thomas is noted for her patient and candid manner during an initial consultation, and Gavin for the depth of his knowledge and his approachable style. An observation shared by more than one reviewer is the speed of responses and the transparency of billing, with clients appreciating clear explanations from the outset. Clinical negligence, family law and child arrangements recur throughout the accounts.

A experience I’d never want to repeat with a hideous company that are “out of office”.. promises never fulfilled and people incredibly overpaid for doing little to nothing.. I wouldn’t recommend these to anyone.. if I could get a reply I’d have no reason to suggest otherwise .. PATHETIC

Going through a divorce is, by itself, an extremely unpleasant, stressful, and costly experience — both financially and emotionally. On top of that, finding the right professional support can feel overwhelming. Before speaking with Joanne, I contacted several law firms, but I was fortunate to be recommended to her by a friend. From my very first email, she responded promptly and professionally, and we quickly arranged a virtual meeting. During our conversation, she listened carefully to my situation, explained the process clearly, and outlined how she could help — all without any pressure to purchase unnecessary services or add extra costs. What stood out most to me was her professionalism, honesty, and genuine care. After our meeting, and especially once I decided to proceed with her, I genuinely felt that I was no longer facing this situation alone. I felt reassured knowing that there was a knowledgeable and compassionate professional looking after my interests. I would highly recommend Joanne to anyone seeking clear, supportive, and professional family law advice during a very difficult time.

Regrettably there are times in our lives when we may need to engage legal professionals. But Freeths, and in particular Alex Howarth, are so much more than that. The support and advice are a given but it was the genuine care, warmth and humour, that made a difference at difficult times. Should you ever find yourself at one of life’s significant cross-roads, then I could not recommend Alex more. Thank you.

I can’t recommend Danielle at Freeths enough. She supported me through a difficult time and was always kind, patient, and genuinely caring, while also being incredibly knowledgeable and efficient. Danielle took the time to explain everything clearly, made me feel heard and supported, and handled everything with professionalism and compassion. I couldn’t have got through it without her, she was always at the end of the phone whenever I needed her.

I recently had a consultation with Gavin and was incredibly impressed with his professionalism, kindness, and depth of knowledge. He took the time to explain everything to me clearly, answering all my questions with patience and care. What stood out most was how genuinely supportive and approachable he was – I left the consultation feeling reassured and much better informed about the process ahead. Even though my situation means I can’t proceed with further legal work right now, I am so grateful for the time and guidance Gavin gave me. It’s rare to come across someone who combines expertise with such genuine compassion, and I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend him to anyone in need of legal support.
