What customers say

Based on genuine customer reviews

Court work and property transactions are the areas where this Sunderland practice draws the strongest comments, and a common thread in feedback is how quickly answers come back and how plainly the advice is put. Jonathan is singled out for being knowledgeable and pleasant to deal with, while Charles Hughes is thanked for taking on a family law matter that other firms had declined and for steering it to a favourable outcome at court following a lengthy dispute. Hollie and her colleagues are named in connection with conveyancing, described as running smoothly from the first instruction through to completion.

An affidavit relating to a change of name is also recalled, arranged at short notice and handled without delay once the appointment came round. Several accounts highlight the professional manner of staff and the sense that each step is explained and progress communicated as a case moves forward, with clients expressing gratitude to named individuals and to the wider team alike.Countless people say they would return to the firm should the need arise, and the recurring subjects remain family matters and property work.

Johnny Askins represents my landlord who intentionally rented me a house that was so badly kept it required two improvement notices to bring up to a legal level of habitability. Mr Askins represented my landlord at a rent tribunal where they were attempting to justify the fixes done to the property as improvements warranting, I believe a 15% increase. During the hearing the chair dismissed Mr Askins comparables as not relevant which must have been rather embarrassing for someone charging 250 and hour. Fortunately, as a disabled barman who was signed off work 8 years ago, I was able to convince the committee of the "intellectual dishonest" behaviour on display and they agreed to a 3% rise. 240 quid to be precise over the year. It did occur to me at the time it was a bit funny paying someone 250 an hour to retrieve 240 a year. Of course Mr Askins does try very hard he also represented my landlords agent at a hearing with his redress scheme where it was claimed that the agent wasn't even connected to the property what was it to do with him? Well besides that awkward signature on the tenancy and the name on the bank details. The PRS found in my favour the first time. The second time my agent chose to represent himself. Now to boot my incompetent agent gave me a section 21, gave me a reference for moving, I instructed him I was moving, and Mr Askins just sent me a bill for several thousand pounds for the upcoming hearing that won't happen because I won't live here any more. Johnny tries hard bless him, but let's be honest, if you're getting spanked at your day job by a double uni drop out on disability sickness and a medical prescription you should probably take up fishing or something. See you at the rent repayment tribunal xxx

I went there for affidavit of change of name and was given an appointment, and it was quite close. On the day of appointment, they were very professional in their service without wasting any time. Great customer service. 👍🏾
